Spot frowns thoughtfully, tilting his head to the side as he considers this.
He doesn't know how he feels about criminals, but there's no kind of instinctual disapproval that strikes him immediately, but then maybe that's because he doesn't remember anything.
"Do you hurt people?" He asks eventually, since right now he feels like that's the only thing that might make him dislike them.
"I... well, yes, but..." Spot isn't entirely willing to say that anybody doesn't count as people, and it's not like he remembers anything Stormtroopers have ever done, but he does remember what they are and he does know, somehow, that they can't be trusted, that they're not there to help.
He also knows that it would make sense if criminals got into fights with them.
"I mean, the kind of crimes you do, you're not... stealing from people who don't have much, or things like that, right?"
Ezra shakes his head, turning around now to present a pair of separate bedrolls for napping.
"No," he says. "We help people. Or we try to. We try to make it harder for the Empire to hurt people. But we can draw a lot of attention, and some people would rather we kept quiet and didn't make trouble."
Spot nods, taking one of the bedrolls with a small thank you.
"Well I don't see why I would hate you for that. It's good to try and help people, isn't it?" He says with a shrug. Without his years of cynicism and bitter understanding of the world, it all seems so simple - people need helping, you help them.
"You don't think..." he starts uncertainly "I'm not a bad person, am I?"
Spot relaxes a little when he hears that - Ezra seems quite certain, and he trusts Ezra. Even if apparently he didn't before.
There is, perhaps, a possibility that Ezra isn't telling him everything, but he's also got no reason to actually expect he's being anything but truthful, so he accepts it with a grateful smile.
"I guess that makes sense, you probably wouldn't have helped me if I was." He says with a soft laugh "Although maybe you would, you do seem nice like that."
He turns away as he speaks, partly to set up the bedroll and partly out of embarrassment for being so earnest - some part of him is at least sort of aware he sounds very naive and trusting, even if he doesn't remember why he shouldn't be.
Spot laughs a little too, smiling back at him until he turns, and then curls himself up in the blankets.
"Good to know." He jokes quietly. "You too, sleep well."
He just lies there for a moment, watching Ezra's back and just letting the thoughts run around his head, wondering what kind of person he was and how he could hate somebody so kind and giving, but eventually the tiredness cuts through and he closes his eyes, burrowing further into the blankets and letting himself fall asleep.
Ezra takes a while to get to sleep, and eventually realises it's because he's not comfortable sharing with a relative stranger - he feels more vulnerable than he'd been trying to show. But he lies, and he meditates, and after a while he does eventually manage to get a few hours sleep.
He wakes later in the morning, but only really moves when he smells cooking downstairs, and rolls over to wake Spot up.
Spot flinches awake, sitting up suddenly and looking ruffled and disoriented, but it only lasts a second before he realises what's going on, and then whatever instinct made him react like that now just makes him blush and smile sheepishly.
"Lunch?" he repeats, confirming that's what he actually heard as he tries to smooth his hair down into something more presentable. He at least feels slightly better rested now, even if it will take him a few minutes to shake off the tiredness.
"Yea, starving." Spot agrees. Part of him wonders if he's ever not starving, but at least they seem willing to feed him well here.
He moves a little slower than Ezra, still sluggish from sleep, but he doesn't exactly waste time in getting dressed.
"After lunch, we're going to explore the city, right?" He asks while he dresses - it's not that he thinks Ezra has forgotten or the plans have somehow changed despite them both being asleep, he's mostly just making conversation, but he's also almost reassuring himself that he's not losing any more memories. He knows what happened this morning, last night, the conversations they've had, it really is just the before that's missing.
"Yeah," Ezra agrees, and takes the prompt to make it a conversation.
"I figure we'll hit up some of the spots where I've run into you before, see if anything sparks any memory, or if there's some interesting scents, or... whatever? Maybe we can start where we fought the other night? Maybe we can find some clues about what you did after?"

He does only hurt them when he absolutely has to, of course, but to say he doesn't hurt them - that's a flat out untruth.
